Why do you want to be a board member?

My answer is the same as it has been over the last several years of my service to the board… I want to make a difference to my business and minority community… I believe I bring a unique perspective to the board that many of our members can relate to…  many of our board members work for large corporations, they have department specific job titles i.e. Marketing, HR, minority affairs etc. but most have never owned a business and don’t have an eye level perspective of what a small business owner faces in the day to day operation of creating and running a successful business environment…

Why do you want to be a board member?

I would like to serve on the urban chamber board to do my part to assist the chamber with its mission of growing and sustaining African American businesses. Through my past community involvement, I have developed an extensive network of people and resources. I also recently completed an MPA at UNLV to further expand my network of both elected officials and senior level public agency administrators.  All of these networks will benefit  the efforts of the chamber. Ultimately, I want to see the chamber membership grow and improve economic and business development in our community. Finally, I welcome the opportunity to serve on the Urban Chamber board and do my part to further the Urban Chamber.

Why do you want to be a board member?

I am fully committed to the Vision and Mission of the Urban Chamber of Commerce. I am proud to have completed my first term as a Director, and if selected, will continue to leverage my resources and time to grow the organization and assist member businesses. There are many disparities which still exist and I believe that my values align with the chamber in providing equal opportunities and a platform for success.
