I see it every day. Businesses wait until there is a tax issue, legal problem, or cash flow crisis before realizing they needed a stronger support system all along. One of the most common things I hear from business owners is, “I didn’t realize I needed help until something went wrong.” 


By the time that happens, stress is high, options are limited, and fixing the issue usually costs more than it should. Over the years, I have seen businesses struggle not because they lacked talent or work ethic, but because they were trying to do everything on their own.

What Is B.A.I.L.S.? 

BAILS is a simple framework that represents the core relationships every business should have in place: 

  • Banker 
  • Accountant 
  • Insurance Agent or Broker 
  • Lawyer 
  • Supportive Services such as SBA, SCORE, SBDC, Chambers of Commerce, and CDFIs 


Think of B.A.I.L.S. as your business safety net. These are the people who help you prevent problems, protect what you are building, and make better decisions as your business grows.
